  • Step 1 - 10 Foot Test

    Open out the PacePure® Original & place on a flat green.

    Position a ball at the end at the end where the 0 would be (positions 36-1 are shown on the training aid).

    Now place a tee or putting hole 10ft away, making 5 separate strokes to 10 (11 feet - 1 foot past speed).

    Then look to see how far you take the putter back on the PacePure® and see which number the face of your putter corresponds with. You can record on your phone or ask playing partner watch where your putting back stroke matches up with the numbers. For example, you may take the putter face back to number 10.

  • Step 2 - Find Your Range

    Take a tee and place it in the hole number 10, take another tee and place it on double the number of the 10 foot putt.

    In this example it would be hole 20, this would become the 30 foot backstroke length with the same tempo.

    Proceed to spit the difference of the two tee's 20 - 10, the middle number would then become 15, this will then give you a 20ft stroke length with the same tempo.

  • Step 3 - Fine Tune Your Speed

    This would then give you the final 3 back stroke lengths of;

    Hole 10 - 10 feet

    Hole 15 - 20 feet

    Hole 20 - 30 feet

    From there you can start to practice your pace control to holes, tee's or ghost holes.

    You may find that 10ft putt will be different to your playing partners as they may have a faster or slower tempo. (examples below)

    Fast tempo numbers 8,12,16,

    Slow tempo numbers 12,18,24

    Advance your skills - Train in the fast, medium & slow tempo numbers. Then practice up and down hill putts to see how your numbers change.
